The Asian Eye: Discussing Eyelid Surgery
by Jane Davis of PlasticSurgeryGuide.com
When we interact with people, most of us tend to look them right in the eyes. If you have done this, you will notice that the eyes of Asian people differ from the eyes of people from other ethnic groups. That is, most Asians have what is known as a single-lid eye or an eyelid without a crease. Due to the popularity of Western culture, many Asians are choosing to have Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery. In fact, is now quite common in some countries in Asia.
Not all Asians have single eyelids and not all of those who actually have single eyelids go for plastic surgeries. This type of surgery is more common in countries where people have a higher income and are more influenced by the Western world. The countries where this is very popular are Japan, Korea, and China. The Blepharoplasty or Double Eyelid Surgery is nothing but a procedure to create a crease on the single eyelids that many Asian people have in order to make the eyes look bigger. Though this eye lift costs a good amount of money, many young people, especially young women are the ones who are having the surgery.
This surgery is popular among older people in the USA and Canada as remedies to help get rid of extra skin in the eye area. In contrast, Asian girls often claim the reason for this surgery is to be capable of applying make-up on their eyelids more vividly as well as to make them more attractive! However people may define it, no one can deny that those who have the procedure are doing so because of western beauty conceptions no matter what they might say. Most of them are influenced as well by what the media portrays.
In the USA and Canada, eye lift surgery is much higher than the cost of surgery in Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam or other East-Asian Countries. In fact, the eye lift cost can be about $3000-$4000 to do the surgery in New York. In China, the eye lift cost is about $500-$900! There are other Asian places like Taiwan, Hong Kong or Indonesia where you can get surgery for an even lower cost. However, it is important to consider factors other than the cost when deciding on where to have your surgery.
Having a Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery is completely a personal choice. But there are a few things that one has to keep in mind before doing that. Because the surgery is happening around your eye, it should cause most people to at least think twice about having the surgery. While celebrities and others may need to do this to keep up their looks, most people do the surgery simply due to cosmetic concerns. Consider all your options thoroughly before having the surgery and also think about the side effects that can happen. For additional information about this surgery, you may go here.
